Not all people would be having “wlan0”, it depends on the card.
Intel guys have “eth1” (eth0 goes to Ethernet), Athreos, I guess would be “ath0” etc.
“iwlist scan” would suffice. I use to often too, shows “(hidden)” wifi hotspots too 😀
Hmm – don’t work in my lap – it says the interface must be given.
